Foods to kick start your detox

A good detox diet will prepare your body for the 7 Day Detox and will make it easier for you physically.  If your body has been gradually introduced to healthier food, the first days of your detox will be easier, with less detox symptoms. Detox foods include all whole plant foods.

This detox diet will balance your body’s pH from acid to alkaline. During the detox, the body is detoxifying the cells and stirring things up. This process releases metabolic waste in the bloodstream, which is responsible for symptoms like headaches, nausea, joint and muscle aches.

 If you do not prepare your body with our suggested detox diet, your body will also have to detox from the unhealthy food you ate, which will cause even more acidity. If you prepare correctly by eating detox foods, that part will already be done once you start the fast.

Prior to the 7 day detox program, we advise you to follow a pre-cleanse program with non-acidic food. The longer you prepare for the fast, the better it is for you. We suggest you to eat a vegetarian diet 2 weeks before you start your detox. Avoiding all animal products is preferable (including dairy and eggs). We also recommend to avoid processed and junk foods.

Try not to eat out and prefer home cooked meals. Replace caffeinated beverages, sodas, commercial juices and alcohol with freshly pressed juices. Consult our detox juice recipes page to get some ideas.

  • Deep fried food
  • Processed food
  • Alcohol, drugs & cigarettes

We recommend you to start your preparation two weeks before you start the program, more or less. If you do not have time to prepare for 2 weeks, no problem. Follow the detox diet for as long as you can. Just remember that you will get better results if you follow our recommendations.
