9 Habits of super healthy people

9 habits of healthy people. 1 man and 1 woman stretching after working out.

What is i that healthy people do? What healthy habits can you implement into your every day life in order to have a slim and fit body?

In this article, I share with you 9 healthy habits that can help you feel amazing in your body!

Healthy habit #1

Healthy people drink their water

We all know we need water but so many people aren’t getting nearly enough of what they need.

Water makes about 75% of your body weight and it’s needed for so many functions in your body, including mental and physical capacities.

Healthy people make sure to carry a bottle of water with them at all times. They actually make water their drink of choice over fruit juices, sodas, or alcohol.

To avoid dehydration, aim for 2 liters of water per day. Drink when you wake up and throughout the day. To make this possible, have a bottle of water in your car, on your desk, and in your purse.

Healthy Habit #2

Healthy people have a good posture

Have you ever noticed how healthy people always have a super nice posture? They stand tall and sit like kings because they have strong back and shoulder muscles.

Healthy people are always conscious of their posture. In fact, they make sure to include abs and back exercises into their workout to keep their muscle strength.

Unhealthy people slouch because they have weak back muscles and shoulder muscles… And slouching weakens those muscles even more… It’s a vicious circle!

Healthy Habit #3

Healthy people work out every day

healthy people work out every day. 2 women jogging at the gym.

Healthy people always look forward to their workout… Because exercising should never be a chore.

Working out actually gives you more energy and makes you feel amazing afterwards.

Healthy people think that exercising is fun! Whether they’re going to the gym, going for a run, doing a HIIT workout, or practicing their favorite sport, healthy people love the idea of exercising.

Healthy people also have a tendency to work out first thing in the morning. Studies show that people who exercise in the morning are more likely to continue than those who work out at any other time of the day.

Healthy Habit #4

Healthy people stretch every day

Healthy people are not stiff. They don’t hurt when picking up something from the floor and they’re able to touch their toes with their fingers!

Healthy people know that it’s not enough to go to the gym… stretching is also part of the healthy habits they implement in their lives.

People who don’t have a good habit of stretching daily are not flexible and don’t feel as good in their bodies as they could.

To be flexible, you must stretch everyday or practice yoga.

Healthy Habit #5

Healthy people don’t diet

Healthy people don't diet. Woman eating a vegan bowl with quinoa, spinach, avocado, and greens.

Healthy people don’t believe in diets. They don’t even think about it… They don’t count calories and they don’t worry about how many pounds they should gain or lose.

Dieting means eating clean for a short period of time with the objective of losing weight or treating a condition…

Healthy people don’t diet because they don’t think of food as a short term solution. Clean eating is a lifestyle for them!

Healthy people’s usually eat mostly whole foods and tend to prefer home-cooked meals instead of processed or prepared meals.

So what is the healthiest diet?

The scientific literature points in the direction of a predominantly plant-based diet. The more fruits and vegetables your eat, the better for your health… So I choose to go all in and eat 100% plant-based!

Healthy Habit #6

Healthy people get enough sleep

Have you ever heard the saying: “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.”?

This saying couldn’t be more accurate. Having a sleeping routine is often neglected when it’s one of the most important healthy habits one can have!

Having a sleep routine will improve your energy levels and your mood while supporting both your mental and physical health. Science even says that it can help you maintain your weight and live longer!

Healthy people tend to go to bed and wake up at regular hours and get at least 7 to 9 hours of sleep.

Healthy Habit #7

Healthy people manage their stress

Healthy people aren't stressed. 2 people in a park doing meditation and yoga.

Managing your stress is so important! Stress and anxiety are linked to stroke and heart attacks, high blood pressure, obesity, depression, and many more conditions.

There are many ways to deal with stress. You can start going to yoga or pilates classes. You can learn how to meditate or just take a few minutes a day to breathe consciously.

Reading a book, listening to calming music, going for a walk… All of these activities can help you keep stress hormones from damaging your body.

Healthy people are conscious of how they react to stressful situations, which allows them to stay calm and make mind-body connections.

Healthy Habit #8

Healthy people take care of their teeth

Healthy people care about their oral health. They brush their teeth after each meal and they make sure to floss every day.

Such a routine is one of the best healthy habits you can have because it prevents bad breath, tooth decay, and gum disease… and it also affects your overall health!

Studies suggest that people with gum disease may have more risk of having a heart attack, a stroke, and diabetes.

Healthy people also like to practice tongue scraping, which consists of scraping your tongue in the morning to remove the coating…

Healthy Habit #9

Healthy people like to fast

Healthy people are aware of the scientific evidence on the benefits of fasting and they practice it regularly. On the contrary to what many people think, fasting is a healthy habit!

Some choose to practice intermittent fasting while others prefer prolonged fasting.

Intermittent fasting

Intermittent fasting is a way of eating that cycles between periods of fasting and eating. For example, one could choose to only eat between the hours of 11:00 and 19:00, giving them an eating window of 8 hours and a fasting period of 16 hours.

Others may choose to fast for 24 hours once or twice weekly, or 48 hours once a month… There are many ways to practice intermittent fasting. At the end of the day, people should choose the method they’re more confortable with…

The benefits of intermittent fasting include weight loss, the improvement of blood sugar levels, cholesterol, and blood pressure. This means that intermittent fasting can help preventing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity.

The only problem with the intermittent fasting trend is that it doesn’t specify which foods people should eat but rather when people should eat them.

Many people still eat 2000 calories of not-so-healthy food…when it kind of defeats the purpose of intermittent fasting… Healthy people who fast choose to eat healthy food during their eating periods, not junk food.

Prolonged fasting

Prolonged fasting, or therapeutic fasting, is a fast that lasts 3 to 40 days. This “treatment” is used to heal several illnesses such as obesity, heart disease, inflammatory diseases, and many more.

Fasting for more than 48 hours allows people to go into ketosis and burn fat for energy, which results in impressive weight loss!

Fasting for more than 48 hours also stimulates autophagy, a natural mechanism of the body where cells are regenerated. This process slows down aging, boosts the immune system, and protects us against pathogens and cancers.

What kind of fasting should you choose?

Most people who practice fasting choose intermittent fasting because it’s easier than fasting for a long period of time. However, prolonged fasting procures benefits more rapidly…
